I went to my first Pride Fest today!
I walked in the parade with QSA, UNM's lgbt group. It was so hot and humid. I am totally exhausted now. There were a couple Christian protesters, but it wasn't a big deal; there were a lot of supporters lined up on the sidewalk. So we walked all the way down to the Fair grounds, where it was really freaking expensive to get in. There was a TON of people there. Last year there were 10,000 people, and it was projected that there would be 30,000 this year. I believe it.

There was a dancing area, I had no idea that so many guys could shake their ass like Beyonce.
And there was a stage where, for some reason most of the entertainment were Drag Queens like lipsyncing and dancing to music. Idk, I thought that was kind of odd. I did see one guy who was actually singing, and apparently there's going to be a march on Washington in October, but yeah, maybe next year it will be better.
ANyways, it was fun, but like I said I am totally exhausted now. Next year, I think I'll just march and not go to the Fair. Or maybe I'll volunteer. I tried to this year, but the guy in charge never emailed me back.

*Edit* Almost forgot to say. You need to boycott Frontier. Apparently the owner is really anti-gay; they actually sent money to California in support of Proposition 8. Satellite Coffee is good, though, and so is the GAP
